In this way, the surface runoff is starting to form a small channel for itself. rather than infiltrate into the subsurface result in a large number of stream channels. A) A discharge can be defined as it is the volume of water which is flowing through a river channel. it is the total volume flowing within a channel at any certain point and it is measured in cubic meter per seconds. here in the given graph it is having a discharge of river on the daily basis.as from the graphed we can conclude that the variation of the actual daily discharge with time is get increasing when the heavy rain is occured. the initial state is remain constant then it have rise in the discharge upto a maximum value which is sustaine for that perticular river channel. after the peak point of the actual discharge it vary linearly to a great fall in it.

B) from the given statistics we can find it easily. the weather on 20 october 2016 is having the discharge of approximately 2500 cubic meter per second. this have a medium range of discharge in it. this means that there was a low rainfall due to medium order discharge rate on 20 october 2016 as shown in the graph. so the weather of that day was low rainfall.

C) the rate of rainfall is the reason for this. as the rain is being contineously take place which recharge the ground water as a result the the soil will make the run off of the water. this will just enable to discharge it within a short periods of time. there is no absoptions into ground water table and in addition the rains is contineous so the time lag is very small due to which the rise in discharge to peak is quickly takes place. on the other hand in case of the discharge after peak the rain have a fall in it and the water table disposs water to water bodies due to which they need their own recharge so it take a time to fill them as a result the lag value increases and hence the discharge rate is not quickly take place after peak point.
