Regression Project Assignment LOGOM 3300-Prof. Cadenhach Business Statisties, Spring 2017 Regression Project Assignment Due Date Task Form a Group Identify a Topie Collect Data Data Analysis Write a Report Nov. 17 digital submission only) Description and Tasks This project is an opportunity for you to apply the techniques of multiple regression analysis and model building to gain insight on a topic of your choice and to communicate your analysis and results in the form of a written report. This project may be completed in groups of 2-4 students. You may work individually if you prefer, but it is strongly recommended to work with at least one other student. The steps of the project are as follows. Topic Sslection: Identify a topic of interest for which data is publicly available, or a topic for which you can collect data through other means, such as a survey. The topic should involve examining the relationship between a dependent variable (v) and at least two independent variables ( variables). At least one of the independent variables should be quantitative. Data Collection: Collect the data required for your analysis. Organize the data into an Excel file. All data entries should be labeled. . Data Analysis: Use regression to analyze the data. First, examine the relationship of each x-variable with the dependent variable individually. Then, conduct a multiple linear regression and a multiple non-linear regression using the generalized linear model. Does the model you created improve upon the fit of the multiple linear regression? Report: Write a report to communicate your analysis and results. The report should follow best practices for writing reports and be organized into sections. The report should be single-spaced. It should be between 4-8 pages, and the use of figures counts towards this recommended page count. Turn in a soft copy to MyGateway by Nov. 17, 11:59 pm. Turn in the Excel file with your data and analysis as an appendix.

Explanation / Answer

Answer to the question)

you can consider the variables rainfall and temperature

The data is available on

http://sdwebx.worldbank.org/climateportal/index.cfm?page=downscaled_data_download&menu=historical

You are allowed to download the data , and run regression

We can consider temperature as independent variable & rainfall as dependent variable and find out the relation in these two varaibles
