Chi Square test is usually used to test the independence of two variables. The same has been done here.

The level of significance is 0.05 and the p value in the result is 0.00244

As the p-value is less than 0.05, we can safely conclude that the varibles are not indpendent of each other and there is some statistical relationship between them which is evident in the contigency table shown in the question.

Here, we are rejecting the null hypothesis because home field advantage does depend on the sport.
