1)Permeability is said to be the amount of pores which is interconnected to each other. In other words permeability is also the word which is used as a replacement word for effective porosity. Permeability is generally used in petroleum geology while effective porosity is used for hydrology. The situation of rise of water in a small diameter tube inserted into the water is due to the phenomenon of capillary action. This capillary rise h = 0.51/r metres, where r is the radius of the tube inserted. Therefore the above statement is false.
