The douser was to walk pasteach drum holding the dousing rod and determine the contents ofeach drum. The douser correctly identified the contents of 7 drums.What is the probability that someone who was just guessing couldhave done as well or better than the douser?

If someone is only guessing then probability of getting itcorrect =0.5 for each drum. And 1-p = 0.5

This follows a binomial distribution with p = 0.5 and n = 10

P(getting 7 or more correctly) = P(x=7) +P(x=8)+P(x=9)+P(x=10)

= 10c7 0.510 +10c80.510+10c9 0.510+10C100.510 = 17.18% (note: though it should benck pk *(1-p)(1-k)­ since p=1-p =0.5 here the calculations show0.510 . Please don’t get confused)
