Lester Brown is one of the most influential U.S. environmentalists of the last four decades. When he speaks publicly, he attracts large crowds. Brown is founder of the Worldwatch Institute and also of The Earth Policy Institute. In his book Plan B 4.0: Mobilizing to Save Civilization, Brown writes in the tradition of the best-selling The Population Bomb (1968) by Paul R. and Anne Erlich. Do a little research on the World Wide Web about the book The Population Bomb and its premise. (Prof. Trumbull: I had a chance to hear Brown speak when I was in graduate school in Seattle; he filled an auditorium with listeners.)
One of Brown's emphases in Chapter 1 and 2 of his Plan B 4.0 is on the current and coming scarcity of water and food on a global scale. Do you find Brown's characterization of coming scarcities to be convincing? Or do you find his views to be overly alarmist? Finally, and based on Chapter 6, do you find his examples of solutions that we may apply in cities to be realistic for addressing resource scarcities on a global scale?
Explanation / Answer
PLEASE READ IT UPTO THE LAST.
As the world is growing in a rapid way and the developement with the help of science and the technology is in the great pace. this means we are in such an advanced state where we just think and imagine whatever and that can be build in a fractions of second so you can think that how much we have get advanced in this era.
now lets we come to the point of the above mentioned topic. as the book is well and i just researched on it and yes it is quite good to take the idea of the environemental stretegies in the past , present and the future and we can found that as we are getting more stick with the technology we are more on the way of polluting and destroying the environement for our own benefits and ease of life. this means it is the one of the bad face of the technology.
and by the virtue of this we can estimate that in the coming time or years there will be the scarcity of the food and the water on the global scale. as the technology get advanced, the medical science and system also get advanced and now the mortality rate is decreasing and which increasing the population. now its a simple matrix that the people are more and the source of the food and water is limited so it will definetly rise the scarcity. more over as we pollute and contaminate the atmosphere which directly influence the water bodies and make them unsuitable for any use and it is not only for human but the other species who live on earth.
so i think it should be convincing and it is not an overlay armist
yes there are many methods by virtue of which we can protect the environement from getting contaminated and polluted. for the global scale we have to understand the future of scarcity and make the spread of knowledge to the people so that they get convenced with this and thus make their contribution to the global scale to save and protect the environement.
