Moraine Lake Consolati Valley Figure 5. A Google Earth image from 2012 with an aerial view of Moraine Lake and surrounding area. Arrows are pointing to surface sediments (glacial till) that form specific glacial depositional landforms. North is at the top of the image.

Explanation / Answer

(i) Blue Arrow- The blue arrow is located at the end of the glacial deposit. The sediments deposited over here are tills which are unsorted and also may have different size and shape of rocks which are carried by the glacier till this position. Over here because of the galcier being melted the load is dropped and a wall of sediments perpendicular to the path of the glacial movement is deposited.

This type of landform is known as- End Moraine

(ii)Red Arrow- As the photo shows flat base and steep walls at the side so it can be interpreted that the must be formed because of the glacial movement in the valley forming a U-shaped design pattern by pluching the loades from side and some from base as well

This type of landform is known as U-shaped Valley

(iii)Yellow Arrow- This arrow is located in portions eroded by the glacial mass. These arrows indicate steep walls as compared to surrounding area which is a sign f plucking and abrading the landmass.

This type of landform are - Cirque (in 2 yellow arrows in the right hand side of second image) & Truncated spar (in 2 yellow arrows in the left hand side of the image)
