Question
To increase production, the government is encouraging to develop fields. Four fields. A, B, C, and D with
estimated production potentials of 3000, 3000, 2000, and 4500 sacks per day. Two companies, X and Y, each have to handle up to 6000 sacks per day. Both companies have to inform which fields they wish to operate.
If their requests are not identical, they will be allowed to operate the fields they requested, with any commonly requested
field being split evenly between them. However, in the event their requests are identical, the four fields will be distributed by allowing the two companies to select alternately a field (without regard to their earlier requests) with X having the
first choice. Determine optimal game strategies.
Explanation / Answer
Both will try to choose 4500 (D) and 3000(A or B) . Now their atleast one of choices will clash.
In that case X will be give choice to choose anything first., and he will choose D(4500).
Then Y wll choose A or B.
And X will choose B(If B is not selected by Y ) or A((If A is not selected by Y )
and the rest will selected by Y.
Final Optimal Case :
X = D, A Y = B, C
X = D, B Y = A, C
