Question
So I've found the Eigenvalues and 2 of the Eigenvectors for the following matrix:
Eigenvalues were .7, .75, and 1
The eigenvectors I got were:
For .75, v = [0, 1, -1]
For 1, v = [0, 0, 1]
I'm just having trouble finding the eigenvector for the eigenvalue of .7. I keep getting the resulting matrix, but by my understanding the matrix would have 2 eigenvectors. But, a 3x3 matrix can't have 4 eigenvectors if I remember correctly.
For the eigenvalue of .7, I can't figure out the eigenvector for the following matrix:
Explanation / Answer
WHY ? ..WE GET ONLY ONE VECTOR FOR L=0.7 TOO....THERE MAY BE AN ARITHMETIC ERROR COMPARE YOUR WORKING WITH THAT BELOW ..
YOU DID WELL ..JUST TAKE CARE OF FATIGUE WITH THESE NUMBERS ..
THAT IS ALL ...
A= 0.70 0.00 0.00 0.30 0.75 0.00 0.00 0.25 1.00 A-LI= 0.7-L 0 0 0.3 0.75-L 0 0 0.25 1-L |A-LI|=[L-0.7][L-0.75][L-1]=0..Related Questions
