3. Point source pollution is generally treated wastewater that is discharged from the pipes of industrial or domestic wastewater into streams or water body. Ex - discharges from wastewater treatment plants; operational wastes from industries

Non point source pollution is caused by rainfall or snowmelt moving over and through the ground. Natural and human-made pollutants are picked up by water run - off and finally depositing them into lakes, rivers, coastal waters and ground waters.

Here Acid rains are considered to be as both point and non point source pollutions. And Non point source pollution are very difficult to control. Because the pollutents are mixed with natural agents. We can not stop the rains and other natural phenomena. So there need to control the emissions of pollutions into atmosphere.
