comes with A&WMA membership, focuses on new air quality monitoring technology. Read the
related articles in the issue, find at least two related peer-reviewed journal articles on the topics,
and discuss how the technology may affect future air quality laws, regulations and enforcement.

Explanation / Answer
Air pollution is harmful even if it is not visible. Newer pollutants are causing health hazard to the public. Pollutants emanating from different sources travel long distance and across state boundaries which pose a great challenge to pollution control. Long exposure result in hospitalization for various aliments resulting in premature deaths, heart attracts asthmas etc. Lead pollution and Sulphur di oxide are the other damaging pollution effects. Keeping a tag on the carbon monoxide air quality standards is a challenging act to perform by the law makers . Carbon pollution and climate change result in great damage to the atmosphere. Frequent flooding, hurricanes and wild fires add to the challenges.

The Aim of any nation for quality planning of Air is to preserve and improve the air quality by taking advance steps to put a stop or reduce the point source of pollution affecting Air.There are two types of air standards primary and secondary. Primary standard ids to protect against adverse health effects and the secondary standards to minimize the unwanted effect in the farm sector, crops and vegetation, damage to dwellings etc. Some standards are of short term and some of the measures are of long term. The short-term standards are designed to protect against acute, or short-term, health effects, while the long-term standards were established to protect against chronic health effects.
