Question
I need help creating an M file for this problem, Thanks!
The temperature distribution in a cooling fin, T (x) is given by: The fin has a triangular cross section, the base of which being attached to the cooling surface. b = 0.01 [m] is the length of the base of the triangle, L = 0.01 [m] is the altitude of the cross section, and W = 0.1 [m] is the width of the fin.T infinity = 300[K] is the ambient temperature, k = 15 [W/mK] is the thermal conductivity of the fin, and h = 15 [W/m2K] is the convective heat transfer coefficient of the fin. The boundary conditions are T (x = 0 ) = 1073[K] and dT/dx|x =L =0. In MATLAB write a script to solve for and plot the temperature distribution T (x) using the shooter's method. Use your nearly optimal RK3 code from homework 5 to solve the ODE. Note that the boundary condition given at x = L is a derivative. Use a 3 point backward difference to calculate this. Use bisection method to estimate a new slope for the shooter's method. Also, note that there is a singularity in the above equation at x = L. This means that the problem cannot be solved as specified. You can however get an approximate solution by letting your domain range from x = 0 to x = 0.99999 * L, and enforcing the boundary condition there. Comment on the solution domain will have a significant effect onExplanation / Answer
