Question

Okay, how would I input the below information into QM for Windows or

Let X1 be the initial amount in Atlanta. Then the amount it will carry is X1 + P1. The cost will be
C1 = FP1 x (4.15) (FP is for the amount of fuel purchased)

The limits are
24000 < X1 + FP1 < 36000

The amount left when it gets to LA will be, assuming regular consumption,
X2 = X1 + FP1 - 12000

The limits for FP2, FP3, and FP4 are

15000 < X1 + FP1 - 12000 + FP2 < 23000

9000 < X1 + FP1 + FP2 + FP3 - 12000 - 7000 < 17000

11000 < X1 + FP1 + FP2 + FP3 + FP4 - 12000 - 7000 - 3000 < 20000

Explanation / Answer

15000 < X1 + FP1 - 12000 + FP2 < 23000..........(1)

9000 < X1 + FP1 + FP2 + FP3 - 12000 - 7000 < 17000..........(2)

11000 < X1 + FP1 + FP2 + FP3 + FP4 - 12000 - 7000 - 3000 < 20000......(3)

here 1st modify these equations which gives

27000<X1 + FP1+ FP2<35000..................................(a).

28000< X1 + FP1 + FP2 + FP3 <36000.....................(b)

33000 < X1 + FP1 + FP2 + FP3 + FP4 < 42000......(c)

24000<X1+FP1<36000.............................................(d)

Now,substracting (b)-(a),(c)-(b),(a)-(d) gives

1000<FP3<1000 =>FP3=0;

5000<FP4<6000

3000<FP2<-1000 =>FP2=0;

Hence the limits are found.
