Notice that footings have been dug inside the perimeter (as well as around the boundary) as a load-bearing support for internal walls. Determine the quantity of concrete required for the footings of each dwelling if they are 350 mm wide and 600 mm deep. Estimate the number of lengths of reinforcing mesh required in each case. using two layers, and applying the same placement conditions as in question 4. How much concrete would be necessary for the slab of each floor plan, if the slab thickness was 100 mm? Trench mesh for the footings costs $35 per 6-m length. Reinforcing mesh for the slab costs $4.75 per m2. Concrete costs $140 per m3. Find the total cost of the footings and the slab in each case.
