Create a mental image of Russia and Antarctica's Historical Geography. What sticks out in your mind the most as being the most influential?
Russia and Antarcitica have almost similar climates. These both regions in polar regions north and south poles. Climate and snow covered made it less inhabitated. Russia as a communist country and super power dominated the World. Its participation in two World wars shows how powerful this country in the World was. Once it liberalised from communist philosophy Russia last its strength. The earlier powerful Soviet Union broke at many countries and last its importance. Now Russia ia again developing and may become future super power.
In contrast Antarctica has less developed may be attributed to its snow caps and uninhabitable climate.
How has Russia's Historical Geography shaped modern day Russia?
Under Communist regime, Russia was attained a super power status. It was a developed country with all modern facilities. The scientific knowledge, military power, developments were much a head of other world countries. As a communist country it was a very strict in discipline and every citizen contributed for its development. But its down fall started once it left communist philosophy. Now again its i recouping to become a developing country.
How do you think Russia's Historical Geography will shape its future?
During communist regime Russia has developed in all spheres of life. That time it had sophisticated medical facilities, skilled engineering, and military technology a. nd scientific strength. The knowledge and technology still available in Russia. So now it used those skills to develop and become a developing country
What do you think the future of Geography will be?
Future geography of Russia is very bright. It has huge natural resources. It has technology to develop. Now it is in a position to command in international politics. Still its military power is very strong. So Russia going to be super power again and may impose their commands at international level.
How do you think we my use geography in the future compared to known?
There is a bright chance to become a developed country again. If that happens then it will be a competitor of USA. Now entire world orient in tow different directions.
Just think how we went from paper maps to GPS and GIS. What is next?
Earlier we used to depend on manual maps to know the geography, locations, natural resources and logistics. As the space technology developed we are using GPS (Geographical Positioning System) in place of map. Digital technology mad it possible to enter into GIS for making digital maps for fast and accurate use.
In future nanotechnology may lead us to use 3D technology in place of 2D GIS technology
Think of technology like Pokémon Go and how we can use maps and geography for even games and gaming..............
Pokémon Go changed the World similar to Google and Face book. It is looks like a simple game but taken technologies from research and gaming communities. It can map artificial digital world real physical world. Augumented reality is technique for layering data from one or more virtual worlds onto the real physical world.
