Question

Please see picture, answer both questions please!

In this exercise, you familiarized yourself with the equivalent circuit diagram of a power transformer. You learned what are the copper and iron losses occurring in a power transformer, as well as their causes You also learned how efficient power transformers are, and how to calculate their efficiency. You were introduced to the concept of voltage regulation in power transformers. You learned how to determine the voltage regulation of a power transformer. What is the magnetizing current of a power transformer? Explain briefly. What is the difference between copper losses and iron losses in a power transformer?

Explanation / Answer

magnetising current is the required current to develop flux in windings of transformer which is responsible for inducing emf . the current which is responsible for devloping flux

iron loss or core loss is due to the hysteresis loss and eddy current loss in transformer

the copper loss - when the transformer is loaded these are the losses in primary and secondary windings of the transformer

iron lossor core loss are constant does not vary with loading

copper loss varies with loading of the transformer
