2.14 Homework Exerciser 1. What is one advantage of the half-wave rectifier circuit compared with the full-wave rectifier circuit? 2. What is one disadvantage of the half-wave rectifier circuit compared with the full-wave rectifier circuit? 3. What is one advantage of the full-wave bridge rectifier circuit compared with the full-wave rectifier circuit assuming the same transformer in each case? 4. What is one advantage of the full-wave rectifier circuit compared with the full-wave bridge rectifier circuit assuming the same transformer ill each case?Explanation / Answer
1.We require less number of diode in half wave rectifier in comparison to that of full wave rectifier...I meant complexity is less in half wave rectifier.
2.in case of half wave rectifier we get only half D.C voltage or current as compared to full wave rectifier.
3.Peak Inverse Voltage (PIV) of bridge rectifier is half as compared to full wave rectifier.
4. In case of full wave rectifier we require only 2 diodes while in case of bridge rectifier we require 4 diodes...that is less number of diodes in full wave rectifier.
