Question

This question is in relation to problem 3/59 in Engineering Mechanics - Dynamics 6th Edition meriam and kraige.

I am having a problem getting the same answer as the book (w=3.64rad/s) when i apply polar coord system instead of x and y i find the length and angles using law of cosines (r=0.755m and angle between r and the normal force is 34.2)

Ncos(34.2)-mgsin(10.8)=mrw^2

Nsin(34.2)-mgcos(10.8)=0

i end up getting w=4.04rad/s

if it is not possible to use this coord system please explain why, thanks in advance for any assistance
