In the position shown, the speed of the ball is v1 = 30 in. /s and the ball is held by a cord attached to the shaft. The cord is suddenly cut and the ball moves to position B as the rod rotates. Neglecting the mass of the rod, determine (a) the radial and transverse components of the acceleration of the ball immediately after the cord has been cut, (b) the acceleration of the ball relative to the rod at the same instant, (c) the speed of the ball after it has reached the stop B.
