Explanation / Answer

the study of the relationship between man and environment has always been important for humans .With the change in time and envrinoment , the relationship between man and environment gained more importance.In the beginning man's dependence on env. was limited to physical aspects of the planet earth, air ,water, land,flora,and fauna.Man was basically physical man ,but with advancement in time his requirements increased then he became social man, the he formulated laws, principles, and policies.etc,With advancement in technology and science, his env. extended and he became economic man.As the result he expanded ,exploited his env. through his skillls, designs etc, to have better food ,home access and to fulfill his desigres. over exploitation leads to rethink and redevelop the env.- man relationship

To improve the Man- env. relationship we must consider these objectives;

1)suggest ways for controlling air ,water,land, soil pollution.

2)outline the schemes for forest management and wildlife preservation

3)need for legislation, status of existing legistion for env. and list the reasons for drawbacks in legislation

4)ways to bring env. information among different segments of population.

5). development of infrastructure related to improve env.in different regions according to the needs of the area.

EXPLAIN Connection Between env. scurities and human scurities.

Human and Env. scurities come from the thought of safeguarding the social, economic ,political, techonological factors that determines the impact on human security.there are many fold challenges to human security.it is important to assess the vulnerabilityand coping capacity of socities facing natural and human induced hazards in a changing env. Humans are totally depends on the env. to survival, if any distruction occures it will directly and indirectly affect the mankind. From air ,to water to land everything will affect our health, physicalor mental. Distruction of any kind from earthquakes to floodings will affect our lives, so humanbeings have to be very careful while dealing with the env. At time many results of human activities do not show up very quickly ,so man thinks there are not side-effects ,but with time the results depict the impact of inputs done by man.If the env. is healthy man is too healthy. We derive food from the soil ,so over pollution of the soil will directly harm us when we consume food.Polluting the air by industrilasation, modernisation has affected our atmosphere, thus breathing has also caused humans various problems.water contamination by man is another problem ,not only industries but even sewage waste has its outlet in clean water , harming our bodies. bulidings of dams , use of neuclear power are all causing damage to our env. .increasing temperature of the earth ever year has lead to drought conditions allover the world.The wheat growing areas are shrinking all over the world and yields of crops are also reducing every year. Rising temperatures not only affecting food produtions but also decreasing snow capped mountains and melting glaciers.This has lead to many serious problems, many islands are already submerged in the water.so we can understand that Man-Env. are related with each other, and if one is distroyed the other will automactically will finish.

INCREASE POPULATION AND ENV.

There is greater concern over growing population and imbalance created by mankind itself.Humanbeings are dependent on the env. for survival and sustance,and ther actions will determine the influence on the env. political,,social,economical and religious institutions , which are part of the env. put constraints onthe use of natural resources and also the way in which they are exploited.Among all living beings on the earth only man has the capacity to bring change in the env.The human population is doubling in every 35 years. No efforts can solve the env. degradation until people check the population growth rate over population means over explotations of the resources for survival and growth. resources not only food but even land mineing,for building homes, cars industries etc..Even religion guides the env. man relationship eg; in many religion abortions are prohibited,which leads to high population ,so more dependence on nature for survival.this leads to imbalance in the eco system.Many cultures supports the animals , in this way they are helping the nature for destroying. Every little part played by man to support or destroy the nature will reflect the results.High pollution in big cities be it mumbai or new york all are due to over population settled in the cities.And scarce population in villages or far flung areas still have maintained the balance between the nature and humans explotitation.

AIR pollution and human security

The control of air quality implies limiting of pollutant.The entire world has one continuous atmosphere. therefore air pollutants are not limited to local area but across national and even continental boundaries.EG; the dust from sahare desert reaches west germany and the sulphur dioxide emissions in UK causing acid rain in Scandinavia .immediate threat from air pollutants is in the form of health hazards to local population. Dust causes respiratory diseases and gaseous pollutanys causing severalother diseases. The long term effects are even more harmful. The breaking up of ozone layer due to chlorofluorocarbons are responsible for causing cancer .The green house effect caused by carbon dioxide and other gaseous pollutants reduce the amount of heat radiation from the earth , thereby incereasing the temperature of the earth.the sulphure dioxide comes back in the form of acid rain., which damage vast terrains of fertail landand renders soil acidic and barren.It should be obvious that it is alwats more economical to control air pollution than to suffer from it and then to identify ways and means to cure its ill effects .
