Question

1) why do they assume x(a) is less than x(o) ?    2) does the equation under b y +(1-tau)y = f(t) work for any equation? asking since it says it is the general solution . 3) show how they solve for tau.

must show all work and make a clear and simple explaination for lifesaver.

Chegg Guided Solutions for Modeling and Analysis of Dynamic Systems 3rd Edition Chapter 7 Problem 5P The input output equation is summation of forces at junction of elements. Write the expressions for the forces acting on the body. Now sum up the above forces and equate to zero. Now sum up the above forces and equate to zero. Hence, the input-output equation for the mechanical system shown in Figure 1 is

Explanation / Answer

(a). it is up to you for taking xo > xa or xo < xa . after solving the equation what u will get , gives the same value.

(b). equation under b. y(t) +(1/tau)*y(t) = f(t) work for any equation. our equation taking the same form of it. so by equating we can find solution easily.

(c). take y= xo and f(t)= xa(t) +(K2/B)*xa

y+(1/(B/(K1+K2) ) )*y = f(t)

so by equating it, tau= B/(K1+K2)
