Explanation / Answer
Problem: Electricity in America is obtained through coal. In West Virginia, the coal mining its done through blasting off the mountain top, which is easier and cheaper method then classic coal mining. But, when the montain is blasted the enviroment is damaged, health of the residents is affected very badly at the same time livelihood of many residents of West Virgina depends on coal mining.
Who is profited? Only the coal mining companies are profitted since the process is very cheap and they can have a great profit margins. the coal extracted is faster and in more amount.
Who is suffering? The residents of West Virginia are affected very badly since they have to hear the explosion every day twice or thrice, they feel like they are under attack everyday. The part of the mountain which is not useful is dumped in the valley and the enviroment is damaged. Also to balst the montaoin top they have cut down the tress and because of the that rain is disturbed and flood occurs when it rains heavily.
Are the profits just? According to me the profit is not worth so much damage. It is damaging all the possible layers very badly like living beings, nature, enviroment.
The problem is not well known in America since the whole negative effect can only be known if you are close to the area like the residents on West Virginia. the whole procedure was hidden earlier. Also citizens are satisfied with the availablity of the electricity and no one makes conscious efforts to know how the electricity is provided.
