Our experimental question is whether or not different genera of ants are infected by Wolbachia at different rates We looked at two different genera in our experiment: Campnotus and Tetramorium. So we'd like to know if the infection rates between these genera are equal, or if one genus tends to be infected more than the other. 4 Write your hypothesis for this experiment State whether or not you think that infection rates will be equal between genera, or if you think one genus of ant will be infected more often than the other. If you pick the latter, be sure to indicate which genus (Camponotus or Tetramorium) you think will be infected more. (4 pts)

PCR (Polymer Chain Reaction) is a techinique to make copies of DNA (Deoxyribonucleic Acid) region and usually the study is done invitro (in lab environment).

PCR Studies are mainly done for cloning purposes, diagnosis of diseases and also forensic investigations from specific DNA region

So if you take this study you provided to me is done on ants where they have lots of different genera in different groups

Ants often show exceptionally high levels of coinfection with multiple Wolbachia strains adding another layer of complexity

For this study we have to take more than one sample to know the exact host reactions to conclude the results.
