Clear All Check Answer remaining 10:33 PM 6/17/2016Explanation / Answer
C(x) = 4800 +300x ; R(x) = -x^2/2 +1100x
a) Proit = Total revenue - total cost
=R(x) - C(x) = 4800 +300x +x^2/2 -1100x
= x^2 /2 - 900x +4800
b) Maximum profit occurs at vertex of quadratice function :
For a quadratic function : ax^2 +bx +c =0 ;
Vertex is given by x = -b/2a
a = 1/2 ; b = -900
x = -(-900)/2*1/2 = 900 items
