Question

Let’s collect some data from the class! A survey link will be made available to collect the data and then shared to everyone in the class. Each student will be asked to take his/her pulse in order to determine their resting heart rate (beats per minute). Use the data to create a frequency table with 6 classes. Now, we will collect another data set, this time every student in class will do 25 jumping jacks and immediately take their pulse rate after the activity. Create a new frequency using the new data. Compare the two results. Are they similarly distributed? How does the range of scores compare?

Explanation / Answer

The freuqency distribution of pulse rate of the students before jumping jacks is

The freuqency distribution of pulse rate of the students after jumping jacks is

Both freuquency distriution of different since the distribution of question1 is nearly symmetric but the distribution of question 2 is right skewed distribution.

Question 1: Range; Max - Min = 109-56 = 53
