Question
3. The price of five located in area A and the price of six houses located in area B has been recorded and will be tested whether the home herga at location A and at location B has the same median. Using Minitab, Wilcoxon Whitney test analysis was performed for two samples. Mann-Whitney Test and ct: house price location A, house price location B N Medianhome location price A 5 80.00 house location price B 6. 62.50 Point point estimate for ETA1- ETA2 is 13.00 96.4 percent CI for ETA1 - ETA2 is (-15.01 36.99) W= 36.0 Test of ETA1 = ETA2 vs ETA1 not = ETA2 Is significant at 0.3153 The test is significant at 0.3131 (adjusted for ties) Analyze the output above what conclusions can you get? alpha = 5%. 3. Explanation / Answer
Solution :
Null hypothesis
H: - = 0
Alternative hypothesis
H: - 0
Looking at the median column, we can see that home location price A is having large median that house location price B. The median difference between two groups is 13 with 96.4% confidence interval for median difference is from -15.01 to 36.99.
Also here wilcoxon test statistics is 36 and the statistical significance of this test is 0.3153(p-value adjusted for ties is 0.3131).So here as the p-value is greater than 0.05( we fail to reject Ho), we can conlcude that there is not statistically significant difference in median price between two groups home location A and B.
That is median home location price of A (80)and median home location price B (62.5) is not statistically significantly different.
Null hypothesis
H: - = 0
Alternative hypothesis
H: - 0
