Most of us are probably familiar with Employer-Based health plans, as most of us probably purchase insurance through our employer. In fact, our text states that this is the most common type of healthcare insurance for working individuals. Our textbook further states that the three classifications are very confusing; for example, I have an employer-based health plan and have purchased insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield, yet according to the classification I fall into both categories. Why is there a distinction between the classifications if there is overlap between the categories?

Explanation / Answer

Voluntary health insurances is the term used for private or commerical health care insurances plan and Blue cross and Blue shield plan, voluntary health insurances is private and denotes employement , voluntary health insurances is differeniated from the social health insurances and public welfare as social health insurances is the government programme and public welfare is assistances to categories of low income people, the voluntary health insurance plan has 3 classification 1) commerical private individual healthcare insurances plan 2)commerical employer based healthcare insurance plan, 3)Blue cross and Blue shield plan, the private is used for commerical and for individual rather than a employer and a group, there is distiction between classification and overlap between subcategories because by this they will be more clarity and availability of the plan to the people.
