Question

Hello! I am having difficulties solving this problem and some help would be very appreciated! Thank you!

3. Stella is a bit forgetful, and if she doesn't make a "to do list", the probability that she forgets something she is supposed to do is .3. Tomorrow she intends to run three errands, and she fails to write them on her list. a. What is the probability that Sella remembers at least one of the three errands? b. What is the probability that Stella forgets all three errands? c. What is the probability that Stella remembers the first errand but not the second or third?

Explanation / Answer

n = 3

P(forget) = 0.3

P(remember) = 0.7

a) P(remember at least one) = 1 - P(forget all)

                                              = 1 - (0.3)^3 = 0.973

b) P(forgets all the three) = (0.3)^3 = 0.027

c) Probability = 0.7 * 0.3 * 0.3 = 0.063
