Total number of inpatient service per day is calculated by the formula:-
The number of patients present in the midnight like if we are calculating the inpatient service for 5th of June then we will take the inpatient service day of 4th June midnight as the beginning count of patient +(admission +transfer in of patient on 5th June) -(discharges of patient on 5th june ) -( transfer out on 5th June) who were admitted the prior day,+( patients who got admitted and discharged on the same day).
Inpatient service day for June 5th is :-
= Beginning number of patients= 47, admission = 5, transfer in patients=0 , discharges= 0,transfer out =2 ,number of patients who got admitted and discharged on the same day = 2
= 47 +(5+0) -(0)-(2) + 2
=52
Then the total in service patient day for the first five days of June = addition of per day inpatient service from first just to fifth June.
48+50+50+47+52 =247.
