Solution:- Total number of nails = 651 + 243 + 41 + 451 + 333 = 1719

a. P(4 inch) = 451 / 1719 = 0.2624  

b. P(5 inch) = 333 / 1719 = 0.1937

c. P(3 or shorter) = P(1) + P(2) + P(3) = ( 651 + 243 + 41 ) / 1719 = 0.5439
