I'm having trouble getting the correct calculations. I will attach the problem which has 5 parts as well as the required data to solve this.

my answers:
part A, I got x=40.06
z=-0.5
using the cumulative standard normal distribution table I got p(z<40.06)=0.3089

part B, I got x=40.82
z=+0.5
using the same table I got p(z>40.82)=0.6195
* this has to be wrong because shouldn't it equal 0.3089 like the other one?







part C, I couldn't calculate

part d, I got extremely off numbers 25th percentile was 5.0cm. 75th percentile was 15.0 cm.
*this is also wrong.

part e, I got critical=39.677 cm
z=-1.0
after looking at the table I got p(x<39.677)=0.1587
*the probability might be wrong.

In part A P(Z<-0.5) =0.3085 is your answer is correct.

In part B P(Z>0.5) = 1-P(Z<0.5) ===>> Normal distribution gives always < probabilty.

=1-0.6915

=0.3085 which is same like other.

Part C: It is very easy.

P(-0.5<Z<0.5) = P(Z<0.5)-P(<-0.5)

=0.6915-0.3085=0.3830
