It shows the facial resemblance between the women and their husbands (first bar), between their husbands and the women's adoptive fathers (second bar), and between their husbands and the women's adop- tive mothers (third bar). Facial resemblance of a given woman to her husband was scored by 242 "judges," each of whom was given a photograph of the woman, photos of three other women, and a photo of her husband. The judges were asked to decide from the photos which of the four women was the wife of the husband based on

Explanation / Answer

Answer to part a)

The essential findings are as follows:

There are more chances of the husbands face to resemble with woman’s adoptive father. Almost 35 to 40% cases are for resemblance of husband with adoptive father

There are least chances of the resemblance of the husband’s face with adoptive mother of the woman. The chance lie between 25 to 30%

The chances of husbands face resembling with wife are around 30%

From all the above findings we get to know that resemblance of face is a fact since for all the three categories the percent is more than 25%

.

Answer to part b)

The scaling of Y axis is not appropriate, it fails to highlight the true difference in the lengths of the three bars

The graph is not highlighting the rend, either the bars are arranged in ascending or descending order or it is shown in terms of a pie chart, any of these would have been a better presentation for the given dataset
