Question
I am having a litte trouble with this question, could someoneassist me? The function f(x) = 1000(0.5)^ x/30 describes the amount,f(x), in kilograms of cesium 137 remaining in Chernobyl x yearsafter 1986. If even 100 kilograms remain in Chernobyl'satmosphere, the area is considered unsafe for humanhabitation. Find f(80) and determine if Chernobyl will besafe for human habitation by 2066. Please show how you arrived at your answer. I am having a litte trouble with this question, could someoneassist me? Basically you just plug in 80 into the equation as x. f(80)will be year 2066 because 1986+80=2066 and x = number of yearsafter 1986. f(80) = 1000 (0.5)^80/30 = 157.49 Because 157.49 > 100, and 100 is UNSAFE, Chernobyl willstill be unsafe for human habitation in the year 2066.Related Questions
