Explanation / Answer

set up a rate equation where you set the distances equal to eachother, leaving the time as the variable. Therefore, sayemiles distance should be 2.5 m/s times time (t + .5 or so)seconds. set this overall distance equal to henris which willbe 45 meters + ( 1m/s times t seconds). Therefore, the answerfound will give you the number of seconds of the race that will endwith Henri winning by a mere half a second! So the raceshould then be set to this time found (t) + 45 meters, or just over74 meters.
