Question
I can not figure out how to multiply the 3^1/3 to the secondpart of the equation and then the 5^1/3 to the second part and beable to add those two results togeter and come up with 8 ? how do you multiply 3^1/3 to -15^1/3? I have been working on this problem for 4 hours and can notfigure out how to get 8, I know it is a difference of cubes, butthat is not helping me to foil it out and get the answer. I thought maybe somehow to pull a 1/3 exponent out but quitehonestly I have no understanding how to pull exponents out it neverhas the exponent left that i think it should have somehow you pulla 1 out and are left with a whole number but i just can not seeit. Any help would be greatly appreciated. JeffExplanation / Answer
3 1/3 (3 2/3 - 15 1/3 + 52/3) = 3 -45 1/3 + 751/3 = 3 + 30 1/3: note that5 2/3 = 25 1/3 factor out the 52
The second part is this:
5 1/3 (3 2/3 -15 1/3 + 5 2/3) = 451/3 - 75 1/3 + 5 = 5 -30 1/3 : same rule again, 3 2/3 = 9 1/3
Adding these, we get 3 + 30 1/3 + 5 - 301/3 = 8
