Question
The shape of radishes is governed by a single locus. Sl/Sl = long radishes Sr/Sr = round radishes Sl/Sr = oval radishesIf long radishes are crossed with oval radishes and the F1plants are then crossed at random among themselves, what phenotypicratio is expected among the F2? Show your work.
-What I am having trouble with here is after I cross theparents. The F1 can be either Sl/Slor Sl/Sr right? So, to get the F2what do I cross in the F1? Sl/Sl = long radishes Sr/Sr = round radishes Sl/Sr = oval radishes

Explanation / Answer
If the F1 can be either LL or Lr, calculate all possibleoptions:
If LL x LL, then all F2 will be LL. If LL x Lr, then 1/2 LL, 1/2 Lr If Lr x Lr, then 1/2 Lr, 1/4 LL, 1/4 rr
Thus out of 12 possible options (4 for each condition), 4+2+1= 7 are LL. 2+2 = 4 are Lr 1 is rr.
Thus 7/12 chance of LL (long) 4/12 = 1/3 chance of Lr (oval) 1/12 chance of rr (round)
I believe this is the way to do it. Please let me know if I amincorrect.
I hope this helps and please rate!
