Total number of correct answers = a

Total number of questions = b

Total number of wrong answers = (b-a) = c

Total time taken to answer b = t (in seconds)

Total Score = z

Precedence should be given to the total number of correct answers over the time taken to complete the challenge. If two people get the same number of right answers but the time taken is different, then the person who finishes faster should get the higher score.

How do I come up with a formula using these parameters to find z?

Answer:

If we measured how many questions one answered in a given time we can say they scored b / t.

But that would also include the incorrect answers. So we now remove the incorrect answer we have:

z = (b - c ) / t = (b - b - a) / t = a / t

The person who finishes faster will have a higher score.
