Therefore 200%(90) inches = 200/100(90) = 2*90 = 180in.

That means the precipitation is twice as normal

Statement 2 says that it is 200% above normal

That means 90+200% (90)=90+180 =270.this says that the precipitation is 180 inches above the normal 90 inches

No the statememts do not mean the same thing because of the variations in the answers we calculated using the information given statemens
