Explanation / Answer
CHAPTER 1:
As per Elazar, Texas can be regarded as traditionalistic and individualistic. The traditionalistic political culture is regarded as traditional political and cultural values and aims on the minimal intervention of state on economic and social life. The traditionalistic political culture checks the role of the government to the role of the actor responsible for the maintaining of the social order, that helps communities to stabilize the traditional social values.
Texas politics demonstrate a stringent one party tradition, provincialism and dominance in business. One of the distinct advantates of the Texas political culture are the dominance of one political party over others. In part 30 years, the Republican Party which is associated with traditionalist policies and conservative ideology is controling the policies of Texas. Rhe results of Presidential elections in Texas include only two wins of the Democrats in nine cases of Presidential elections.
The Republican Party is increasing its power in the state and urbanization of the state continues. Texas politics is known to support private business with least involvement of the state government and other concerned authorities into the economic afairs of the state. The non interfering government stance is a must for the individualistic political culture. In the state of Texas, this particular trend is very strong among others since the state government traditionally doesn't allow direct interventions into the economic affairs of the state. Instead, the government aims upon the stimulation of individual business startups and emergence of small businesses. Texan legislation has always favored the business initiatives and currently running policies have also created favorable conditions for starting up a business in Texas.
