Area number 3-digit and it cant be 000, 666 and 900-999. Possible numbers for area number are 10^3 - (1 + 1 + 10^2) = 898

Group number is of 2 digits and it can't be 00. Possible numbers for group number are 10^2 - 1 = 99

Serial number is of 4 digits and it can't be 0000. Possible numbers for serial number are 10^4 - 1 = 9999

(a) Total number of SSN possible are
898 * 99 * 9999 = 888931098

(b)
It is possible to calculate the total number of SSN's possible for State of Ohio provided information should be available about the number of area. As we know Ohio has assigned area SSN from 268 - 302 i.e. 34.

Total number SSN possible are 34 * 99 * 9999 = 33656634
