What is the surface area of the pyramid formed by the net shown? A Cylinder AA 7.3 cm B Cone 20 cm 20 cm C Sphere A 173 cm2 D Rectangular prism B 346 cm? C 692 cm? D 1,384 cm2 Topic 13 69

Explanation / Answer

1) Ans- A- Triangular prism

A triangular prism has 4 faces 6 edges and 4 vertices triangular pyramid. Hence 2 triangular bases and rectangular side bases

2) Ans- A- Cylinder

Because other options are not right as the required shapes are not available in the diagram provided. Also if we put the rectangle vertically and place the two circles one on top , one on bottom it creates a cycinder.

3) Ans - B - 720 in3

since volume of rectangular box is length* width * height

so taking below box volume= 12*5*8= 480 in3

Taking the volume of above box = 4*12*5= 240 in3

Adding both- 720 in3

7) Ans- B

Since volume= length * width * height

so B= 3*8*1.5= 36

8) Ans- C- 550 cm2

surface area= 2 ( width*length + height *length + height*width)

                     = 2(15*10 + 5*10 + 5*15)

                      =550 cm2
