She randomly divides twenty-four students into three groups of eight. All students study a passage of text for 30 minutes. Those in group 1 study with background sound at a constant volume in the background. Those in group 2 study with noise that changes volume periodically. Those in group 3 study with no sound at all. After studying, all students take a 10 point multiple choice test over the material. Based on the scores, Susan calculated a F-statistic as 3.59. Please help Susan test whether she is correct. Use = 5%.

Ho: There is no significant difference between scores of three groups

Ha: There is significant difference between the scores of three groups

Total degrees of freedom is 24-1 =23

Degrees of treatment = 3-1=2

Degrees of error = 23-2=21

critical value f(2,21) = 3.47

since calucated value is more than critical value we reject null hypothesis and conclude that there is significant difference between scores.of three groups
