Formulate the following problems. party ie planning a half hour television show. The viewers. 1) A political ehow wi1l have 3 minutes of direct request for money from Three of the party s politicians will be on the sho party congresswoman, and a governor- on at least twice as long as the governor. The tot the senator and the governor must be at least twice the by the congresswoman. that 40, 50, 60 (in thousands) viewers will watch the program for each minute the senator, the congresswoman and gover are on the air. Formulate to find the maximum number of viewers. The senator demands that he be al time taken by time taken Based on a preshow survey, it is believed nor respectively Use the graphical technique for solving the following LP (graph paper provided) Max Z=2x1 +x2 x2

Explanation / Answer

Minutes given to : Senator = S; Congresswoman= C; Governor=g;
S>= 2G
S+G >= 2C
40,000 viewers for each minute of S;
50,000 viewers for each minute of C;
60,000 viewers for each minute of G;

Total show is of 30 minutes; 3 minutes is for request for money from viewers;
So rest time left for C,S and G = 30-3 = 27 minutes;

Thus, objective function is to maximise 40,000 S + 50,000 C + 60,000 G
(subject to followign constraints)
such that C>=0; G>=0; S>= 0;
S+G >= 2C
S>= 2G
and C+S+G <= 27;
