Question

You have two liquid cultures of growing bacteria which are visibly turbid from the growing bacteria. You inoculate each one with a different type of virus and let them continue growing. When you come back, both cultures appear clear. You take a small amount of the cleared culture and put it into new culture broth and let it grow. When you come back one is still clear but one is turbid from the bacteria growing in it Explain what is happening in the experiment and why Tube 3 is turbid and Tube 4 is clear.

Explanation / Answer

Tube 3 might have received some viable bacteria cell and that might have grown to make turbid. In tube 4 that might not be the case
