Question

ue tavorite Darby selecti or by importing your favorites The force acting on a partide varies as in the figure below. (The i marked in inarements of 2.00 m.) x axis (N) x (m) Find the work done by the force as the particle moves across the following distances. (a) from x 0 m to X 16.0 m (b) from x 16.0 m to x 24.0 m -4.834 in orde How is the work that the force does on the particle related to a feature of the Fr vs. x graph? Apply that relation to the graph particle. J (c) from xa o m to x 24.0 m 43.166 x the first two parts of this problem, but because at least You appear to have calculated this answer correctly from your answers to this part is also wrong. J

Explanation / Answer

a)) From x = 0 to x = 16 m,

W = Area of upper triangle

     = 0.5*b*h

      = 0.5*16*6

      = 48 J

b)From x = 16 to x = 24 m,

W = Area of lower triangle

    = 0.5*(24-16)*-3

    = -12 J

c)) From x = 0 to x = 24 m,

Wtotal = 48-12 = 36 J

Q-2)

Vertical velocityis zero
horizontal velocity is vcos(theta)

                              = 38cos(30)

                             = 32.91 m/s

KE = 0.5mv^2

     = 0.5(0.15)(32.91^2)

     = 81.25 joules
