I can't figure out why I am using 64 beads and when we divide that in half for cytokinesis we get 32 beads per daughter cell. How do i get the 23 chromosomes per dauter cell?

Although mitosis and meiosis share similarities, they are different processes and create very different results. Build a pair of replicated, homologous chromosomes. Use ten beads to create each individual sister chromatid (20 beads per chromosome pair). Two five-holed beads represent each centromere. To do this: a. Start with 20 beads of one color to create your first sister chromatid pair. Five beads must be snapped together for each of the four different strands. Explanation / Answer

In this experiment, it is demontrated that you start with 20 X2 =40 beads to prepare one pair of chromosome and than 12X2=24 for the next set of chromosome pairs. This is only two set of chromosome pairs only. For next 21 pair of chromosome you have to use another set of beads for each set of chromosme (12X2=24 for 21 sets = 21X24 =504 beads). Hence you need a total 568 beads (40 (first set)+24 (second set)+504 (subsequent 21 sets)). By using 568 beads you got the 23 chromosome per daughter cells. Hope you understand the fact. Thanks.
