A nationally-representative survey of 50 men finds that unmarried men attend church approximately 10 times a year. After they marry, however, these same men attend church 20 times a year. The standard error for the mean difference is 2. What kind of t test would you use to determine whether or not marriage results in a significant difference in men's church attendance? What are the t and p values for this example? (Feel free to say p .05 if you can't be more precise.) Can you reject the null hypothesis that marriage has no effect on church attendance for men? (Please show all your work).

Explanation / Answer

a) here as people in sample is same we will use paired differnece t test.

b) here test stat t=d/std error =10/2 =5

and p value for 49 degree of freedom =0.0000

c) as p value is lower then 0.05 level, we can reject the null hypothesis.
