Since the blue is half of the spinner, P(blue) = 1/2. The red and yellow make up the other half of the spinner and are the same size. Thus, P(red) = P(yellow) = 1/4.
Suppose there are 2 freshmen, 1 sophomore, and one junior in a study group. You want to select one person. The P(F) = 2/4 = 1/2; P(S) = 1/4; and P(J) = 1/4, just like the spinner.

1) (a) All the possible outcomes are as follows:
(b) The list of all possible outcomes is known as the sample space.
2) To get this answer we look at the outcomes of anwer 1(a)
We know that P=No of favourable outcomes/Total no of outcomes
Now, the favourable outcomes are where we have exactly 1 red coming up which is WWR,WRW,RWW= 3 cases.
Our total no of outcomes= 8, and therefore P=3/8
