Question
Help I have a test in less than an hour need to know how to do these problems, sorry for double asking: Answer is A and D respectively
(9) Once you get to n>100 the difference between the t and normal distributions becomes minor. If we are performing two-tailed one-sample t test analyses with an overall =0.05 and n=100, about how accurate would using the normal distribution instead of the t distribution be? (A) 1% (B) 2% (C) 3% (D) 4% (E) 5%
(10) When n<30 the difference between the t and normal distributions can be considerable. If we are performing two-tailed one-sample t test analyses with an overall =0.05 and n=30, about how accurate would using the normal distribution instead of the t distribution be? (A) 1% (B) 2% (C) 3% (D) 4% (E) 5%
Explanation / Answer
Here n>100, that means the sample size becomes large samples, if the sample size is >30 the samle is large sample then we use the normal test instead of t-test(small samples). 5% is accurate level of significane for large samplels test of significane of the hypothesis whether two tailed of one tailed alternative. Because of this reason we consider the accurate level = 5%.
