ALL WORK DONE IN EXCEL

a) First copy and paste the data in excel spreadsheet. Then go to "Data" tab and then "Data Analysis" tab. Then a dialogue box will be opened. Select "Descriptive Statistics" and OK. Then in the input range select the data column, and check Summary statistics and Confidence Level for Mean (default is 95%), then click OK. You will get the output below.

b) Confidence interval for the population mean number of production workers :-

Using the "CONFIDENCE" function we get the 95% confidence interval for the population mean number of production workers (70.03398,103.8803), assuming the sample from Normal distribution.

c) I think the estimate of confidence interval is not a good one because the data here are much spread.
